4th of July parade

Posted by CERV Team on

CERV of the Monterey Peninsula partnered with the Monterey CERT program after the 4th of July parade. Thirty volunteers worked at the booth, which was located in front of Colton Hall. Hundreds of residents and visitors participated in demonstrations and conversations about how to prepare. We distributed information and demonstrated to children and adults about the importance of knowing how to evacuate, shut off utilities, stop bleeding and prepare go-bags. Also, we passed out information about the 12 CERT programs in Monterey County, the Red Cross, the SPCA, Citizen Corps, and F.E.M.A. Residents from Monterey, Pacific Grove, Seaside, Salinas, Marina and Pebble Beach expressed an interest in taking the CERT training. We alerted their local CERT programs.
