Our workshop leader is June Kailes, Associate Director, Harris Family Center for Disability and Health Policy at Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, California. She is internationally known for her pioneering work in conceiving, promoting, and moving the emergency services world from the vague “special needs” focus to operationalizing an access and functional needs approach to
planning, response, relief and recovery. Participants will have an opportunity to identify and assess the needs of their organization; increase organizational preparedness; further develop their capacity to respond to a disaster; and develop partnerships throughout the county that will enable us all to better meet the needs of our diverse communities.
