Emergency Preparedness Resilience

The Community Emergency Response Volunteers of the Monterey Peninsula releases its second video in our Stories of Resilience Series. Each video tells the story of people with disabilities/access and functional needs and highlights their resilience.

Sarah Johnson and Daniel Manjares live in a remote area of Carmel Valley with their four children. Their storyNever Give Up, is about how a family of six, two with severe asthma, survived the impact of the huge Soberanes fire for over a month...no work..evacuated from their home....pneumonia.

Seeking help during a disaster isn’t easy, but they found ways to ensure the health and safety of all family members and to help others.

CERV encourage organizations and individuals to use these videos in workshops, trainings, and in their homes. Consider including along with them, local resources and disaster preparation materials. Help make our families and communities become more resilient.

A huge “shout out” to Kim Delaney, Mike Harris and The Differences Studio for producing the Stories of Resilience Series.
